Radiological Technologist Lagos Island

He/She performs diagnostic tests on patients that doctors order for a specific purpose, and the test results help doctors diagnose patients’ diseases and injuries and enable them to devise a treatment plan to help get patients’ on the road to recovery.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Explains procedures to patients and helps calms their fears and nervousness by helping them understand the procedure.
• Adjusts the imaging equipment for each patient.
• Maintains equipment to make sure it is in top shape for each patient.
• Records each patient’s medical history before beginning the procedure.
• Shields exposed areas on patients’ that do not need to be imaged.
• Positions both the patient and the imaging equipment to get the correct image according to the doctor’s orders.
• Assists patients who are in extreme pain or under mental distress.
• Contacts a supervisor or physician in the event a patient becomes too difficult to control and is not cooperating with procedure instructions.
• Operates imaging equipment to produce the image.
• Meets with radiologists who view the images to make a diagnosis and determine whether or not additional images are needed.
• Keeps detailed records on each patient.

Education and Experience
• Certificate from technical or vocational school.
• Associate’s degree in radiologic technology.
• Bachelor’s degree in radiology or related field.
